DICOM Router

The DICOM Router project has been brought about by the needs of one of our clients that requires the ability to route incoming DICOM images based on a number of criteria. Instead of developing an application that only does what they need today, we decided to create an application that would allow the user to create rules that can be added to or changed over time.

Although this is in use at our client, it is still a work in progress. Some of the rule setup section of the application does not work exactly as we want it to. As we get closer to a release on this project we will provide more information.

DICOM CD Creator

The DICOM CD Creator was developed to use a Microboards CD/DVD publishing System (Microboards Technology). We've been very happy with their product while creating this project. We would like to set up the system to allow it to use other publisher's as well. Specifically the Epson DiscProducer (discproducer.epson.com) and Rimage Products (www.rimage.com). There are obviously other products available and we would be happy to work with users to provide a solution that would work with other platforms.

The current version uses Merge Healthcare's e-film lite as the DICOM viewing software which requires a full license of Merge E-film Workstation be installed on the system controller the publisher. We are looking into using other viewing software to relieve the necessity for this licensing.

DICOM Editor - in beta

There are a number of DICOM header editor applications available. Probably the most notable is DicomWorks (DicomWorks). The major difference between our DICOM Editor and others that we have seen is the ability to split a study. This is useful when images from two studies have inadvertantly been merged into a single study (anyone working in radiology has seen this happen). The DICOM editor is not a DICOM workstation for viewing images. It is merely designed to modify DICOM Headers. It can not modify image data in any way.
